quick tutorial

your first crop in 5 steps.

under 5 minutes from download to first event logged. after that, just use it.

this tutorial walks you from zero to having a full crop with plants, events and photos. everything works offline and stays on your device.

step 1

install GrowerHelper

get it from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). one-time, cheapest store tier. no forced subscription, no ads inside the app.

tip: the moment you open it, the app generates a local identifier for you — no account creation needed.

step 2

create your first crop

tap "Crops" then the + in the corner. name it (e.g. tent 2025), pick indoor or outdoor, set photoperiod (veg/flower) and medium (soil, hydro, coco).

tip: leave the crop active so it shows on the big card on home.

step 3

add plants to the crop

open the crop and tap "+ plant". put in the genetics, current stage (veg, flower, mother) and how many identical plants to create at once. each gets its own timeline.

tip: use the "copy" button to clone identical plants and save time.

step 4

log the first event

from home, tap the center +. pick a type (water, feed, prune, photo, pH/EC, light change, etc), select the plants involved and fill what matters. save.

tip: log photos via the "photo" action — the camera opens in-app and images stay in the sandbox, off the system gallery.

step 5

see your feed and charts

home shows an instagram-style feed of your events. open a crop and tap "Report" to see charts of pH, EC, TDS, temperature, RH and fertilizer totals over time.

tip: save a local .zip backup any time — handy to share with the community or archive a cycle.

+ bonus

features that save you time

beyond the basics, GrowerHelper has a few tricks worth knowing.

clone plant with history

long-press a plant in a crop → "Copy plant". duplicates the plant with past events included, and you can send it to another crop. great for splitting mothers from daughters.

charts with target bands

open a crop → Report. pH, EC, TDS, temperature, RH and fertilizer totals with green bands showing the ideal range for the current stage.

sprays and ferts library

add once in Settings → Library. when logging a feed or spray, pick from the list — no retyping name, dose or EC.

lunar calendar

Settings → Moon calendar. lunar phases and recommended windows for planting, pruning and harvest — for biodynamic growers.

quick converters

water (liters ↔ gallons ↔ ml) and weight (g ↔ oz ↔ lb) inside the app. no Google searches mid-grow.

recurring reminders

configure once (water every 2 days, feed mon/thu) and they become local notifications — no internet, no server.
